ATLANTA (AP) - An Atlanta rapper accused of shooting a fellow musician to death at a recording studio is scheduled to stand trial.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that opening statements are expected to begin Tuesday in Fulton County Superior Court in the murder trial of 29-year-old Vinson Hardimon.

Hardimon, known as rapper Young Vito, has been indicted on charges of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He's accused of killing 24-year-old Mario Hamilton, known as rapper Slim Dunkin at an Atlanta recording studio on Dec. 16, 2011.

Authorities say Hardimon was waiting for his turn in the recording booth before punching Hamilton. The fight ended with Hamilton shot in the chest. Hardimon later turned himself in to authorities.
