TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- The trial is set to begin tomorrow for four band members charged in the hazing death of Florida A & M University drum major Robert Champion.
Champion was killed almost three years ago after being beaten on a bus during a trip to Orlando. Fifteen former band members were originally charged with manslaughter and hazing. All but the four remaining defendants have had their cases settled. Several of them are expected to be called as witnesses. While the trial is set to begin Monday, it could be delayed because of a late challenge by attorneys for three of the defendants about the inclusion of an additional hazing charge. The trial is expected to last about two weeks.
