Tallahassee, FL (WTXL) - A trial date has been set for the former principal of Lively Technical Center.
William Hildebrandt was charged with four counts of felony grand theft and a misdemeanor for petty theft in 2014. Court documents say that a large quantity of metal, paint, and other materials were stolen.
According to a probable cause document, Hildebrandt stole materials from the school to build a metal fence and four gates on his property. He is also accused of stealing paint purchased with school funds to paint his three car garage. The report says Lively Technical Center's materials and funds were also used to make products for his wife's business and finance a specially ordered window seat for his home.
Authorities also say that Hildebrandt falsely adjusted timesheets. In the summer of 2011 and 2012, the former principal told three instructors to add additional overtime hours to their pay in order for them to in turn pay Hildebrandt's son. Records indicate that though his son was underage and not an employee at Lively, two teachers each paid him $800 a month and another $1600 a month for odd jobs he performed around the school.
The jury selection is scheduled for October 31.
