TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The family of Trent McElroy, a Roberts Elementary 4th grader who lost his battle with cancer, is hosting an event this weekend called the Trent Trot to bring awareness and raise money for cancer research.
Trent competed in what was formerly called the Red Fox Trot three times after his diagnosis.
It was renamed in his honor following his death.
Beginning this year, all proceeds from the race will go to the Trent's Touch foundation to support local families living with childhood cancer.
The event is this Saturday, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-miler at 9:30 a.m.
It costs 20-dollars to register. Click here for more information.
