TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Members of the Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency will meet Tuesday to talk about the next step in its plans for roads in Tallahassee and Leon County.

The CRPTA is conitnuing their efforts to make the roads safer for everyone using them, ease congestion, and much more through direct observation and community input.

One of the targeted areas the CRPTA has been focusing on is Midtown and Thomasville Road.

At their last meeting a few months ago, the agency began Phase I of the Midtown Transportation Plan-surveying and researching problems in the area.

Now the group will discuss moving forward with Phase 2, which includes presenting the study's findings to the public to create a finalized plan.

Some of the biggest traffic issues being adressed are congestion, safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and a review of crashes to address what isn't working.

The team is also addressing traffic concerns near Apalachee Parkway and Magnolia and updating changes further down Thomasville Road near Hermitage.
