WAKULLA COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Deputies say that a traffic stop turned into a drug bust when two people were arrested for manufacturing and trafficking meth.

On August 1st, deputies stopped Sherri Plinke and Robert Rutland for an expired Texas tag. Plinkse, who was driving at the time, presented her driver's license but did not provide a copy of vehicle registration or insurance though she claimed she had valid copies, said deputies.

Plinkse also told deputies that they were traveling to Franklin County from Georgia. Deputies say that they continued to talk to Plinkse and eventually she admitted to being in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

According to deputies, about 27 ounces of liquid meth, two firearms, and other items used to create and ingest meth were found in the vehicle after a search.

Both Rutland and Plinkse were charged manufacturing of meth, possession of a firearm during a felony, and other charges related to the possession and creation of meth.

Both were transported to Wakulla County jail.
