TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is behind bars after police found him in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop.
According to documents, on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Tallahassee police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Infiniti that was speeding and driving reckless.
When officers approached the vehicle they immediately noticed two small bags of crack and powder cocaine on the driver's side. Police identified the driver as 22-year-old Quanterrius Thomas.
On the passenger side of the car officers found $1,182 in cash inside a jacket.
Officers also found a bag of spice near the vehicle, which they said Thomas had thrown out the window before they approached him.
Officers then searched Thomas and found $473 in cash inside his pocket.
Thomas told officers that the cash found in his pocket was indeed his, but the other money found belonged to someone else.
Officers say in total they found 9 grams of powder cocaine, 6 grams of crack cocaine, and 22 grams of spice.
According to documents, Thomas was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility. He is facing a series of charges including, possession of cocaine and cocaine possession with intent to sell.
