Traffic Changes for 2014 Winter Festival

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Saturday is the 28th annual Winter Fest in downtown Tallahassee, and there are some traffic changes you want to know about.

Thousands of people are expected at Winter Fest, and you're encouraged to get there early. Parking is available for a fee at the Kleman Plaza parking garage as well as limited on-street parking.

Festivities begin at 9 a.m. and last through 10 p.m. The official lighting ceremony is set for 6 p.m., followed by the Jingle Bell Run and the parade kicks off at 7:15 p.m.

The City of Tallahassee reports these road closures during the event:

- Adams St. between Call St. and Jefferson St., 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

- College Ave. between Monroe St. and Bronough St., 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

- Duval St. between Pensacola St. and Call St., 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

- Monroe St. between Tennessee St. and Brevard St., 4:30 - 10 p.m.

- Monroe St. between Tennessee St. and Madison St., 5:45 - 10 p.m.

- Madison St. between Railroad Ave. and Monroe St., 5:45 - 10 p.m.

Also, StarMetro's Rhythm route will not operate on Saturday, and other routes will be detoured around the road closures.
