Second Harvest of the Big Bend will be taking in the donations, and storing them for current and future disasters in our area.
They are asking for non-perishable food items and cash donations.
Every dollar is equivalent to four meals. They raised $700 by lunch time Thursday.
"The great thing I love about our business community is every time we put the call out for them to step up and help people, they are always people calling us off the hook," said Jay Revell, the vice president of the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
You can still donate and help the mission. The event will be going on until 6:00 p.m. Thursday on Park Avenue and Calhoun Street.
