TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Police commemorated National Human Trafficking Awareness Day with their new vehicle wrap.
Organizers spoke about the importance of spreading awareness and the role that law enforcement must play.
"Trafficking victims are labeled trafficked and sex trafficked. Crimes are committed constantly surrounding human trafficking so law enforcement is crucial," said Robin Hassler Thompson, the executive director of Survive and Thrive Advocacy Center. "The fact that they have called us and we have worked together on terms of helping victims, that's another piece that's absolutely vital."
Attorney Christopher P. Canova, chair of the Big Bend Coalition Against Human Trafficking, was present for the unveiling.
