TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Six shootings in the past three weeks have many wondering how to address crime in Tallahassee.

WTXL ABC's Jada Williams on Wednesday broke down how law enforcement is handling the surge in gun violence.

A Tallahassee Police Department spokesperson says they are working hard to have a strong presence in the community, hopefully alleviating the crime the city has seen in recent weeks.

One area that has seen much of that gun violence is Seminole Grands Apartments. Two of the shootings in the past three weeks happened at the complex. Overall, four shootings happened there this year.

While TPD contniues to work on bringing the crime down, the department says that collaboration with the community is vital.

Officer Damon Miller Jr. said: "Just the presence of us being out here and having partnerships with businessowners, homeowners, and also those staying in the community I believe helped a lot."

Arrests have been been made in the three most recent shootings at the apartment complex.
