TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department held a shopping with a cop event called Heroes and Helpers.
It's an event to help children from Leon County buy holiday gifts for their families.
TPD has been putting the event on for about a decade.
Eighty children were paired with a police officer Wednesday to help them select a gift for someone in their family.
Sgt. Anitra Highland noticed some of the children buying not toys but household items to help their family's everyday needs.
Target employees wrapped the gifts.
