TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - As you're driving around Wednesday, make sure you watch out for the little ones.

A good rule of thumb Wednesday night is to slow down 5 miles below the speed limit and watch out for trick-or-treaters.

In some areas, there's still debris in the roadway, so make sure to watch out for that as well.

Some neighborhoods like Southwood block streets off, so you can check Talgov.com, Twitter, Facebook, and NextDoor for a list of road closures.

Tallahassee Police Officer Damon Miller also had tips for parents of trick-or-treaters to keep kids safe.

"A lot of children want to wear mask, we just ask that please while they are wearing that mask make sure that you are with them," said Officer Miller. "And also if their walking, make sure their in a up position because those mask actually limit your peripheral vision and because it is dark and we still have a lot of debris on the roadways, children may be not able to see the motorist coming and also the motorist may not be able to see the children."

He also said to wear reflective gear so cars and incoming traffic can see you.
