TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Tallahassee police haven't noticed anything out of the norm in post-Irma recovery efforts here locally, but they do have some advice.
Watch out for flood-damaged vehicles being sold if you plan on buying a car. Go to a dealer you can trust. Do your research. Tallahassee police recommends not paying money up front when it comes to cleaning up your yard or repairing your home.
"Unfortunately there are con artists out there that will still try to make a buck even at your expense," said Tallahassee Police Officer Rachelle Denmark.
Also be sure to watch out for price-gouging on items like gas and water. Report it to the hotline 1-866-9-NO SCAM.
