TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is accused of nearly crashing into a patrol car, and when police stopped him, they say they found marijuana inside.
The Tallahassee Police Department says at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday night, Oct. 11, 2014 an officer followed a vehicle in the area of South Meridian Street and Polk Street to Magnolia Terrace Apartments nearby, after it drifted into that officer's lane, nearly hitting the patrol car.
Once the car was pulled over, the officer says there was an overpowering strong smell of air freshener, as if the driver had just sprayed it, which he recognized to be the brand "Blunt Power", marketed to cover the odor of marijuana.
The officer called for backup and a K9 officer. Police say during a drug sniff, the K9 alerted them to them, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of nearly 64 grams of marijuana in various bags and jars, along with a scale.
TPD says the driver, Jermaine Brown, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of cannabis greater than 20 grams, possession of paraphernalia and violation of probation.
