TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested a Tallahassee man in connection to a shooting that killed a 26-year-old man in June.
Antwan Weathersbee, 39, who goes by the nickname "Raw," was arrested by TPD on Thursday for the killing of 26-year-old Eric Thomas on June 29 in the 2000 block of Hillsborough Street.
TPD says with the help of U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Weathersbee was taken into custody in Hawkinsville, Ga.
Court documents state Weathersbee and Thomas got into an argument before Weathersbee shot Thomas from behind multiple times.
He is being charged with second degree murder.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One person is dead after a shooting in Tallahassee Friday night.
The Tallahassee Police Department has identified the victim as 26-year-old Eric Thomas.
On Friday at about 9:34 p.m., TPD responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Hillsborough Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they found one victim suffering with a gunshot wound.
TPD says Leon County Emergency Medical Services and the Tallahassee Fire Department also responded to perform lifesaving procedures, but the victim died from their injuries.
The Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and Forensic Technician responded to process the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
The case has been assigned to TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit.
