TPD arrests copper thief responsible for multiple break-ins

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department reports that a copper thief has been arrested, which solves several business break-ins.

These burglaries caused more than 100 thousand dollars worth of damage.

Police took 23 year old, Sergei Davis, into custody on Thursday, June 29 at approximately 5:32 p.m.

Authorities say he stole copper tubing from several businesses around Hartsfield Road and Commonwealth Boulevard.

Without copper tubing that attaches to air conditioning units. The machines run on Freon until they break causing thousands of dollars in damages.

Davis's charges included the following: 

· 6 counts-Burglary of Dwelling or Structure 

· 1 count-Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure

· 3 counts-Dealing in Stolen Property

· 7 counts-Petit Theft
