TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- The Tallahassee Police Department, Safe Kids Worldwide and local State Farm Agent Bill Reardon are teaming up to ensure child safety seats are safe this spring.

On Mar. 2, technicians will be inspecting child safety seats to verify they are properly installed.

This is a community service event to promote awareness and to educate citizens on the hazards of an improperly installed car seat.  Florida law requires that all children six years of age or younger ride in a federally approved child restraint device to provide protection for the child.

The event will take place on Friday, Mar. 2 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the American Red Cross-Capital Area Chapter located at 1115 Easterwood Drive (off CCNE) to have your child safety seat inspected

Appointment times can be made, as well as drop-ins will be accepted.  Please call the Tallahassee Police Department’s Special Operations Division at (850) 891-4261, if you have any questions or to schedule an appointment.
