MIAMI (AP) - Authorities say Interstate 95 in South Florida was shut down in both directions after a state trooper spotted what turned out to be a toy grenade in a crashed vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that troopers were at the scene of a rollover crash in northern Miami-Dade County shortly before noon Friday when a trooper inventorying the vehicle found an object that looked like a grenade. The Miami-Dade police bomb squad responded and identified the object as a toy.
It wasn't immediately clear how long the interstate was closed, but it has since been reopened.
