TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - Tonight, members of the Southeastern Center for Infectious Disease, the Florida Department of Health in Leon County, Leon County Public Schools, and Leon County Emergency Management services came together under one roof.
A town hall meeting was held at the College of Pharmacy on FAMU's campus to share the latest information about the disease. Community members were invited to ask questions at the meeting. Panel members hope that by remaining open and transparent, they can help calm the community's concerns.
Local health officials say they are continuously updating procedures according to cdc recommendations. Tallahassee Memorial has three steps in place for handling Ebola. They start by identifying the symptoms. If they do feel a patient exhibits ebola, they will isolate them. TMH also has a rapid response team in place, made up of 7 positions that would be assigned to take care of that patient.
