TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It's a hot and humid summer day, but there's a lot of yard work to do. Some may put off the outdoor chores for a cooler day, but others make their living battling the heat and humidity cutting lawns, and landscaping yards, all to make things look pretty.

Meet, Donald James. Yard work is his passion and has been since he was just a boy.

"As a kid, mowing the yard at home," says Donald James, a Crew Leader with Tallahassee Lawn Care. "It started from there. And 20 years later, I'm still here."

Still here and still mowing lawns.

"Just was the passion of the beautifying, of the results at the end makes it look real good. Makes the house look good," says James.

Taking care of lawns all over the country during the scorching hot summer months.

James continues, "You have to sit down, take breaks. It gets really hot, so all the guys know [to] drink plenty of water, stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks."

It's not always hot outside while James and his crew work. In fact, they try to push through the rainy days too, but that's not always easy.

"The hardest thing is when you're in the middle of a big job and it starts raining and you have to shut down and everything gets wet and have to come back again and do it again," explains James. "It's kind of a hassle"

And dealing with the hassles of weather is just part of the job. He works continuously through the day until the yards have been trimmed, mowed, and ready for their close-up.

Jame's hard work, strength, and determination has him and his crew his crew in the running for the title of "Toughest Summer Job."
