Tornado warning issued for southern Mitchell County in SW Georgia

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A tornado warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for southern Mitchell County in southwestern Georgia.

At 7:53 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 11 miles southwest of Camilla, moving northeast at 35 mph.

This dangerous storm will be near Pelham around 8:10 a.m. and Camilla around 8:15 a.m.

The warning expires at 8:30 a.m. 

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Branchville and Mitchell Co A/P.

Take shelter. 

Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
