TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee resident witnessed an act of kindness Wednesday morning and posted about it on Facebook, and got nearly 5,000 'likes' and several comments on her post in just a matter of hours!

Bonnie Koon posted on Publix's Facebook page, that she noticed a Lake Ella Publix employee walking a Raa Middle School student across the street during the busy commute Wednesday morning in Tallahassee.

Koon told WTXL ABC27 that she appreciates the Publix employee watching out for the safety of our youth, and is reminded that there are good people in the world.

"Everyone is so quick to post on Facebook or talk to a manager are negative things," says Koon, "and I think it's just really important that we all kind of take the time to stop and acknowledge that there's actual good in the world and people will do nice things for each other."

Koon snapped a photo of the employee and posted it to Facebook, hoping Publix would notice...and they did! They responded to her post, saying they'll make sure the associate is recognized for going above and beyond.
