TIFTON, Ga. (WTXL) - Georgia has honored the City of Tifton for successful planning.
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs presented the city with the statewide distinction in the Plan First program.
This honor is given to communities with a track record of strong development planning.
Tifton is one of nine communities recognized statewide.
This was the first time the city was eligible for the honor.
Tifton's city manager says this will push economic and community development and help improve local communities even more.
