TIFT COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Farmers from Tifton say this year's peanut crop is looking good.
Tyron Spearman with Peanut Buying Points tells us, farmers are watching closely to see how much rain will come between now and harvest time.
Spearman says this week's rain is making it difficult to get in the field.
"We need to get into the field right now, and we have some fields that we can't get into right now. But as it soaks up and we get a few dry days, we'll get in and get our springing schedule started and stop some of these insects that we've seen lately," said Spearman.
Spearman says China bought much of the peanut surplus from last year.
