VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Three teenagers and two juveniles are in police custody after officers say they burglarized a Valdosta home on Thursday.

According to the Valdosta Police Department, they went out to the home after a concerned citizen contacted them Thursday morning.

When they got there, deputies discovered the five individuals including three 17-year-olds, Demetrius Smith, William Berrian, and Kendrick Thomas.

Deputies are not releasing the names of the other two because of their age.

"The relationship between the citizens and the police department is vital in combatting burglaries. The information and tips received from citizens by calling the police anytime they witness suspicious activity is essential in stopping burglars", said Lieutenant Bembry.

The teens are charged with the following:

Demetrius Smith: Burglary (FELONY), Obstruction of an Officer (Misdemeanor), and Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)

William Berrian: Burglary (FELONY), Obstruction of an Officer (Misdemeanor)

Kendrick Thomas: Burglary (FELONY), Obstruction of an Officer (Misdemeanor)

The two juveniles are both being charged with felony burglary and one is also facing charges of obstruction of an officer.
