TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Three Tallahassee men were arrested after selling drugs to undercover investigators.
Santray Davis, 20, Wardell Brown, 57, and Travis Winbush, 25 were arrested on Wednesday by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday at about 3:15 p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department conducted a buy-bust operation along with the Leon County Sheriff's Office to stop street level sales of controlled substances after receiving numerous complaints of narcotic sales in the area of Alabama Street, and Cactus Street.
Undercover investigators posed as drug users and bought drugs from the three men.
Davis sold cannabis to undercover investigators in the area of Harlem and Alabama Street, in close proximity to John G. Riley Park, and was subsequently taken into custody.
When talking with authorities, Davis admitted to possessing the cannabis, but denied selling, or having the intent to sell it. He said it was for personal use.
Brown and Winbush were both arrested in the area of Cactus Street and West Pensacola Street.
When authorities came in to arrest both men, Winbush began to run before he was taken into custody on Cactus Street.
Where Brown and Winbush sold drugs to undercover investigators was also within 1,000 feet of a Marathon gas station on West Pensacola Street.
According to court documents, when authorities searched Winbush they found a chapstick style plastic tube with crack cocaine inside, powder cocaine in 25 small bags, and three bags of cannabis.
When officers searched Brown, they found two bags of cannabis, a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine, and a pill bottle containing tramadol pills.
Based on the evidence, Brown is facing charges of selling cocaine and marijuana within 1,000 feet of a place of worship or businesses, possession of synthetic cannabinoid and possession of narcotics equipment.
Davis is facing charges of selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a place of worship or business.
Winbush is facing charges of selling and distributing cocaine within 1,000 feet of a place of worship or business, selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a place of worship or business, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and resisting arrest without violence.
Winbush was also wanted for robbery.
All were taken to the Leon County Detention Facility.
