CHATTAHOOCHEE, FL (WTXL) - Three employees at Florida State Hospital were arrested after allegedly abusing a wheelchair-bound patient.
According to the attorney general's office, 56-year-old Robert Blackman attempted to punch a disabled resident at the hospital, shoved his head down and pushed him into a wall.
27-year-old Shabreka Butler and 48-year-old Janice James reportedly witnessed the incident and failed to report it as required by law, the attorney general's office said.
Blackman is charged with two felony counts of third degree abuse of a disabled adult. He faces up to 10 years in prison and more than $10,000 in fines. He was released Thursday on $7500 bond.
Butler and James are both charged with misdemeanor failure to report the abuse of a disabled adult. They were each released Wednesday on $500 bond.
