TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Three Tallahassee men are now behind bars after police say they broke into homes and robbed people at gunpoint.

Police say they were able to tie Tremaine Lovett, Michael Jerger and Javarius thomas to at least 39 cases from October to January.

A total of 46 charges were filed during the investigation.

We talked with one of the victims who says he and his roommates were only away for a couple of hours when their home was burglarized back in December.

"It was a pretty awful feeling, knowing someone was in your house and rummaging through your possessions and the fact that we lost a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff, it was just not cool," said Joey Scotten.

Joey Scotten says his gun was recovered but he didn't get his laptop back.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--During the months of October 2012 through January 2013, TPD investigators in the Criminal Investigation Division noticed an increase in residential burglaries and street robberies throughout the Northwest area of Tallahassee. TPD used selected officers to begin to focus on the crimes and found several factors that led them to believe the crimes were related.

Through similarities in several of the cases, investigators used court orders and review of available data to develop several possible suspects. In all, investigators were able to link at least 39 different cases which included residential burglaries, armed burglaries, an armed robbery and kidnapping. Several of these cases involved injuries to the victims and gunshots being fired.

Through the cooperation of all involved, including detectives from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, TPD investigators were able to identify three individuals with direct ties to 39 cases. Probable Cause was developed in 17 cases with 5 search warrants written and executed. There were a total of 46 criminal charges filed in the investigation including:Grand Theft, Grand Theft of an Automobile, Kidnapping, Armed Burglary, Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Burglary of a Dwelling, Dealing in Stolen Property, Grand Theft of a Firearm, Defrauding a Pawn Broker, Robbery with a Firearm
