ATLANTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Georgia authorities are investigating after several residents, Georgia congressional candidate Karen Handel, and two news stations were sent threatening letters with suspicious white powder inside.
The FBI Atlanta Field Office says that on Thursday, a series of letters were sent to U.S. Congressional 6th District Candidate Karen Handel's home and some Roswell, Ga. residents.
They said that a WAGA Fox 5 Dekalb County news station also received a similar letter with the same suspicious white powder. Later that evening, WXIA 11Alive also received a similar letter.
Authorities say that all the letters were threatening in nature. They are now reviewing over a dozen letters.
Initial field testing for all of the letters have come up negative for any known hazards. However, they say that they will continue to run tests out of caution.
