THOMASVILLE, GA -- Nearly 140 JC Penney stores will shut their doors for good Monday, including locations in Thomasville and Tifton.
The stores are Gateway Plaza and the Tifton Mall are among several named in a list of closures the company says will “help align its brick and mortar presence with its omnichannel network”. JC Penney began the liquidation process back in April.
Nearly 5,000 jobs are expected to be impacted nationwide as a result of the closures.
A voice recording for the Thomasville location prompts customers to visit the now nearest store at Tallahassee’s Governor’s Square Mall.
