THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--Thomasville Police are encouraging citizens to properly secure their homes and vehicles. Police say some victims have made it easy for criminals to gain access to vehicles.

They say all doors and windows of vehicles and homes should be locked at all times when the residents are not around and during night hours. Police are asking residents to be more alert and make sure they take care of their property as well as look out for each other in their neighborhoods.

Many crimes take place during daytime hours when people are away at work and school. Police ask you to report any suspicious activity immediately. Suspicious Callers are asked to give good descriptions and direction of travel for people and vehicles acting suspicious in the neighborhood.

The Thomasville Police Department will visit with you or your organization to share crime prevention tips. The crime prevention unit can be reached at 229-227-3288, 229-393-3153 (Lt. Eric Hampton) 229-891-4294 (Officer Penny Hembree).
