THOMASVILLE, GA (WTXL) - Thomasville Police say that a man attempted to steal two boxes of dog food and toiletries from a Family Dollar.
Thomasville Police arrived around 2:20pm Thursday and are still looking to identify the suspect. However, a store employee says that she did recognize the man.
The suspect walked into the Family Dollar and grabbed two plastic "Rubbermaid style" boxes, according to police.
A witness told police that the suspect filled the boxes with dog food, soap, and shampoo.
According to the incident report, the suspect then took one of the boxes out to his car and fled the scene leaving the other box at the door.
Police say the other box contained a 40 pound bag of dog food.
The officer at the scene says that after watching the security tape, he said it looked like the suspect got into a silver 4 door Chevrolet Aveo and traveled east on West Jackson Street.
