THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) -- A Thomasville man is now facing more dog fighting related charges.

Police say Benji Branham was rearrested Thursday morning on five counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Police took him into custody Friday, September 4 after they raided his home on North Stevens Street, finding dogs that were believed to be involved in dog fighting. He was arrested on one count of animal cruelty and bonded out on $2,600, but now he's back in jail on the new charges.

They say they also found equipment like treadmills and syringes used to treat the dogs' injuries on the property.

Police say they found about eight dogs. They were taken to the animal shelter.
