Thomasville Man Arrested After "Suspicious" and Attempted Burglarly

Thomasville, GA (WTXL) -- Reports of suspicion, attempted burglary and illegal narcotics ends with one man arrested after a police chase.

On September 21st at 10 p.m., Police say they received a call stating there was a "suspicious" person sitting in a vehicle in their driveway at 224 Edgewood Drive.

The suspicious man was described as white male wearing black shorts and a red or orange shirt, according to the report.

When an officer arrived, police were told the person had left the vehicle and ran away in an unknown direction.

The investigation found the vehicle was a rented Toyota Corolla and the suspect, Geofry Max Gill, possibly lived three blocks away in the 900 block of E. Walcott Street.

Gill's girlfriend, Donna Keen, was at the residence and informed police that Gill was on illegal narcotics and dealing with anger issues.

While police were speaking with Keen, a burglary in progress was reported in the "immediate" area at 320 Hayes Street.

Angela Jones had contacted police and alerted them of someone trying break in through her back door.

According to the police report, Jones said she heard noise coming from the back porch when she looked outside and saw the previously locked screen door swaying open. As Jones was backing away from a window, she says the door know started turning back and forth.

Jones contacted police again when the suspect began banging on the front door and attempted to kick the door in.

Investigators say upon exiting their vehicles, a person was spotted in the in the darkness. Police shined a light and saw a white male wearing black shorts and an orange shirt who began running towards East Calhoun Street.

The man was taken into custody and identified as Geofry Gill.
