THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Each day in America, 42 different families hear "your child has cancer."
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and one group in South Georgia has made it a mission to make sure we are all aware and can help fight the cause too.
The Childhood Cancer Awareness, Families for a CURE group is placing gold bows throughout downtown Thomasville.
This group has been around for years and has found many innovative ways to get the community involved and gain their support. Such as selling t-shirts and hats, teaming up with local businesses and hanging their own gold bows.
The group's first September event will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thomasville Chick-fil-A, so you too can join in the fight to find a cure for childhood cancer.
The group said a portion of your purchase will help fund cancer research.
