Thomas University to offer students biology grants

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomas University is partnering with six other colleges and universities through the "Yes We Must Coalition" to receive a $4.4 million grant.

The National Science Foundation S-Stem grants will provide scholarships of $6,000 for 18 students majoring in biology.

To qualify for the scholarships, students must be first-time freshmen, be eligible for the federal Pell Grant, have a high GPA and major in biology.

The grants will also provide advising and mentoring for the students, hands-on research with faculty mentors and preparation for graduate school.
