THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Hundreds of local students are getting ready to put on their caps and gowns and graduate over the weekend.
At Thomas University, more than 300 students will walk across the stage and receive a diploma on Saturday. Preparations for the big day were in full swing Friday afternoon.
University officials say this is one of their larger graduating classes, with many of the students receiving graduate degrees.
"I'm going to be overjoyed. That's for one thing, and my family will also. I'm a non-traditional student so they're going to be very happy for me," said Jimmy Rollins, a former Marine getting getting his Master's Degree in Social Work from Thomas University.
Graduation is also being held at Valdosta State University and Bainbridge State College over the weekend.
