THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomas University has received a nearly $30,000 grant from AT&T to help support the school "Yes I can!" scholars program.
That program targets ninth grade students in Thomas County and surrounding counties because the program says the jump to high school can be a difficult transition year.
The grant given will fund TU professors to provide an hour per week of study strategies support for students struggling in math or other subjects.
The program also accepts 200 students and after ninth grade, those students can enroll in other programs at TU for the remainder of their high school career, all in hopes that these at-risk students reach the next level.
