THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomas County has all hands on deck right now to get the county, along with the City of Thomasville, back in working order quickly.
Roads throughout the county are 95 percent clear to drive.
The biggest concern for many is power restoration.
The county held another briefing Thursday, saying 90 percent of Thomasville residents were without power and a substantial amount in the county.
EMA Director Chris Jones says people need to be prepared to go days, possibly weeks, without power.
"It is a very lengthy process as far as getting the utilities restored after an event like this," he said. "So the answer we're giving the individuals who are asking is: it will be a long time, and that may be a day, it may be three days, it may be a week."
Shelters throughout Thomas County and Thomasville are now closed.
