THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - In Thomas County, emergency experts have began planning for a worst case scenario.

The Thomas County Fire Department, EMS responders and the Thomas County Sheriff's Office will have another debriefing at 11 p.m. Sunday to see if the storm has shifted.

Emergency officials say you have more than enough time to get prepared for the storm if you have yet to do so.

"Essentially we like to say if the community's prepared, we're better prepared, because one of the things that we know for sure is, we still have an active 911 call log that goes on, on top of these events," said Emergency Official Chris Jones.

Experts recommend picking up items like flashlights, batteries, water and medicine, plus having an evacuation plan, just in case.
