THOMAS Co., GA (WTXL) - A Thomas County Deputy has been suspended after complaints were made about a social media post from his account.

According to the Thomas County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Jason Shierling was suspended without pay Wednesday morning pending an internal investigation.

The post in question said, "Lolz, these are the same people that want 15 an hr, the same people screaming "black lives matter" it's very clear they matter to you! I would've loved to have rolled up on this. If you aim right you could've gotten both of them on the same cartridge, let them ride it together!"

It appears the comment was made in response to a video of people fighting at a McDonald's.

Shierling has been a deputy for 18 months. The Sheriff's Office says he has had a clean record prior to being suspended.

Shierling will be suspended for at least three days as the investigation continues. He could be indefinitely suspended, pending the outcome.
