VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta police say no arrests have been made in a shooting due to a he said, he said situation.

Police got a call about 3:30pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 about a Hispanic male running around telling people that someone was trying to harm him. When police got there, they found the man in the 500 block of West Gordon Street with a gun, which police were able to take from him.

According to police, the Hispanic man told them he had driven from Florida to Valdosta to meet with a black man he met online. He said the two became intimate, but when he decided he wanted to stop, he claims the 20-year old black male became irate and threatened him with a knife.

The Hispanic man said he grabbed a handgun on a nearby dresser and fired one round toward the ground to scare him. Then, he said, the black man dropped the knife and ran out of the house. The Hispanic man said he also ran from the house.

Officers said they found the black man who told them his side of the story, which was that the Hispanic man became angry after talking with him and grabbed the gun and tried to shoot him.

Police say at this time, there are no arrests due to conflicting statements, but the case is being investigated.
