TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – The Tallahassee Ballet launched its Everything Dances campaign to connect with the community in a fresh and interactive way, on Friday.
“We are extremely excited to share this bold campaign with the community,” said Tyrone Brooks, Artistic Director of The Tallahassee Ballet. “The Tallahassee Ballet is one of the best-kept secrets in town and, as we turn a new leaf within the company by adding more contemporary styles of dance to our repertoire, we want to remind the community just how special an experience can be with The Tallahassee Ballet.”
The Company will take its dancers around town and pop up in surprise locations this holiday season.The first location will feature the dancers at the Downtown Getdown on Friday, November 13. Other pop-up locations are slated for December and are designed to remain a surprise for the community.
The Ballet Company is growing and transitioning to reach a broader audience.
“For years we’ve been known as a professional classical company,” said Janet Pichard, Executive Director of The Tallahassee Ballet. “But since Tyrone Brooks joined us about two years ago, we’ve really changed our approach to performances, creating new opportunities to reach a more diverse audience.”
The Company is also getting the community involved by using social media in the Everything Dances campaign. They are is asking the community “What’s your rhythm?” and encouraging people to answer the question via a short video or photo and post to social media using the hashtag #EverythingDances.
Participants will be entered to win a Nutcracker prize package, complete with tickets to the performance in December at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.
