Tallahassee Fla. (WTXL)-- Over 30 graduates walked across the stage Monday night and are one step closer to becoming law enforcement officers.
Basic recruit class 427 has finished their training at the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy.
The program is part of Tallahassee Community College.
Students complete nearly 800 hours of training. Each class at the academy conducts a civic engagement activity as part of their requirement.
This graduating class held a 5-K earlier this year, and raised nearly two-thousand-dollars to help support community non-profit organizations.
Graduates say the community service, along with their training sessions, have prepared them for the road ahead.
U-S representative Gwen Graham was the guest speaker at the ceremony.
