The Latest: Suspect in Florida Hospital Shooting Named

TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Latest on the shooting at a Florida hospital that left a patient and a hospital employee dead (all times local):

11:20 a.m.

Police have identified the suspect and the two victims he allegedly shot and killed at a Florida hospital.

Titusville police say 29-year-old David Owens entered Parrish Medical Center at 2 a.m. Sunday through the emergency room. They say he went to the third-floor room of 88-year-old patient Cynthia Zingsheim and fatally shot her and 36-year-old hospital employee Carrie Rouzer with a handgun.

Owens was quickly tackled by two unarmed hospital security guards and arrested. He has been charged with two counts of murder. It is unknown if he has an attorney.

Police say they have found no motive and no connection between Owens and either woman. All lived in Titusville.

A gunman entered a Florida hospital and shot and killed a patient and an employee before being arrested.

Local media says the shootings happened about 2 a.m. Sunday at the Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, which is near the Kennedy Space Center.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said the shooting appears to be random and that two unarmed security guards captured the suspect.

Neither the names of the suspect and victims nor a motive have been released.
