DANIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - 3 p.m. Officials are saying 14 people suffered injuries when a plane's engine caught fire at Fort Lauderdale's airport.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles says one person endured burns that were not life-threatening, while the rest had bumps, bruises, sprains or were complaining of stress. All were taken to hospitals.
Jachles says 101 passengers and crew were onboard Thursday's Dynamic Airways flight departing Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. The Boeing 767's left engine caught fire as it taxied for takeoff for a flight to Venezuela.
Dynamic is a 5-year-old airline that connects Fort Lauderdale, New York, Venezuela and Guyana. It operates seven 767s.

The National Transportation Safety Board is sending a four-person team to Fort Lauderdale to investigate a fire involving a Dynamic Airways jet.
NTSB spokesman Eric Weis said Thursday that representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration, engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, Boeing and Dynamic will also take part.
The Dynamic Boeing 767 was taxiing for takeoff Thursday at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport when a fire broke out in the left engine.
Some injuries were reported, but the extent and how many was not immediately clear.
The airport is closed.

The Fort Lauderdale airport is closed after a jet fire sent passengers scrambling down evacuation slides.
An airport spokeswoman said Thursday that Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport would be closed for an indefinite amount of time because of the engine fire on the Dynamic Airways Boeing 767. Some injuries were reported, but the extent and how many was not immediately clear.
Meanwhile, a recording showed how an air traffic controller warned the pilot that the engine was leaking fuel before it suddenly caught fire.
WSVN-TV played a recording of the controller calmly telling the pilot that "a lot of fluid" was leaking out of the left engine. The controller then urgently tells the pilot that the engine has caught fire and that firefighters are being dispatched.
The plane was taxiing for departure for Venezuela on Thursday when the fire began.

The plane was taxiing for takeoff to Venezuela when the left engine caught fire. The pilot on a trailing airplane said the engine had been leaking fuel.

A plane engine caught fire on the runway Thursday at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.
Flames engulfed one engine on the Dynamic Airways Boeing 767. Airport spokesman Greg Myer told WSVN-TV that the fire was quickly put out.
There was no word on any injuries but passengers could be seen walking toward the terminal. No further information was immediately available.
