TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Junior League of Tallahassee is preparing for an event that will raise money to benefit different organizations in the community.

The Junior League of Tallahassee's 1st Sunshine State Ball will take place next Friday Jan.11.

All of the proceeds made from this event will go to support local organizations such as the Second Harvest of the Big Bend and the Big Bend Homeless Coalition.

Since opening its doors in the 1960's The Junior League of Tallahassee has contributed more than $2.5 million to the community.

Organizers hope the event will raise more money to help others.

After months of planning and campaigning, organizers are looking forward to the impact this event will have on its community partners.
