NEW YORK (AP) - The Donald is running for president.
Real-estate mogul and reality-television star Donald Trump says he will seek the Republican nomination for president in 2016.
Trump made the announcement Tuesday morning at the midtown Manhattan tower that bears his name. He is now the 12th high-profile Republican to join the race.
Trump has teased presidential runs before, but has always backed out. This time, he's doing just well enough in early public opinion polls to potentially earn a place on stage at the first GOP presidential primary debate in August.
Trump isn't the last candidate expected to join the big pack of GOP contenders. Still expected to get in are four sitting governors: New Jersey's Chris Christie, Wisconsin's Scott Walker, Ohio's John Kasich and Louisiana's Bobby Jindal.
