TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - Bethel Missionary Baptist Church celebrated its 144th anniversary today. It was also the 28th anniversary for the pastor, Reverand Dr. R.B. Holmes, Jr.
City, County, State, and University Officials came out to celebrate the church. The theme of the anniversary is “An Attitude of Thanksgiving: Blessings of the Past, Present, and Future Generations.”
Commissioner Nick Maddox gave special greetings at the 7:30 AM service, and U.S. Congresswoman-elect Gwen Graham and Florida House of Representatives, Alan Williams spoke at the 11 AM service. Mayor Andrew Gillum delivered the greeting for the 6:00 PM Re-dedication Service. Chief Michael DeLeo was also in attendance.
All services were open to the public.
